Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday inaugurated ‘Prime Minister College of Excellence’ in 55 District of Madhya Pradesh.
Speaking at the event, Shah highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India to be a leading nation in all sectors by 2047, marking 100 years of independence.
Shah emphasised the importance of the New Education Policy (NEP) in achieving this goal, stating that it will enable Indian students to compete globally while staying connected to their cultural roots.
“Now that I have come here, I want to tell you all that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a goal for all of that in 2047, when we complete 100 years of freedom, our country will be ahead in all sectors and if we want a developed nation, then we have to excel in the field of education and so by farsightedness, PM Modi launched the New Education Policy,” Home Minister Amit Shah said.
“The New Education Policy will let students compete with the students of the rest of the world, and in addition to that, it will also connect students to our culture and traditions,” he added.
“The investment of Rs 500 crore in these 55 colleges of excellence is not merely symbolic,” Shah remarked.
“The parameters and criteria for these institutions are clearly defined. These colleges will offer flexible education pathways.
“Here, there won’t be compartmental education. If you want to do BA and are also interested in Science, you can study both of them together. If you are a commerce candidate and interested in Arts, then you can do that as well”.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ programme, in Indore on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering here on Sunday, Amit Shah said, “The whole country will witness when 11 lakh saplings will be planted here in Indore. Today every person across the country will plant a tree in the name of his mother and pay respect to his mother and Mother Earth.”
“I have come to Indore, a city that is known across the country for cleanliness, food, good governance and cooperation. From today onwards, Indore will also be known after the plantation of saplings in the name of the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam program,” he added.
The Home Minister praised the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and said people are greeting their mothers and Mother Earth simultaneously.
“When PM Modi began ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, nobody knew that it would become a revolution. Now everyone is planting a sapling and greeting both their mothers and Mother Earth simultaneously,” Shah further stated. (ANI)
