LONDON: In new 650-member British Parliament which is formed today (Friday 5th July 2024), a total number of 15 members member of Pakistan origin have been entered into Parliamentary politics. Out of these 15 members four are new faces whereas two old faces are out of fray this time. These are Birmingham (Perry Bar constituency) based Khalid Mahmood (for the last 24 years) and Rehman Chishty from Gillingham and Rainham constituency serving for the last 14 years. Independent candidates Barrister Mohammad Ayub and Labour candidate Naushaba Khan defeated both Parliamentarians respectively.

These 15 members are as follows:

Naz Shah (Bradford West – origin from Chakswari (AJK)

Dr. Zubair (Glasgow)

Barrister Mohammad Ayub (Birmingham – Origin Ratta Dadyal, AJK)

15 candidates were in fray in Glasgow but only one candidate from SNP Dr Mohammad Zubair won the election.
