LAHORE: Taking a dig at Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal-Bhutto Zardari, former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) President Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that those who failed to resolve the water issue in their own province were talking of providing water in Lahore.

He was talking to the media persons as well as the people of his constituency, NA-123 Lahore, during a visit here. In his address, Shehbaz criticised Bilawal-Bhutto without naming him, and said those who did not have water in their own province talk about providing water in Lahore. He said the people of Lahore were already getting clean drinking water and food.

He said the PMLN was the party whose leadership gave laptops to millions of girls and boys in the country, built hospitals and provided free treatment facilities to people “Under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, boys and girl students will be given more laptops if the PMLN is elected to power again,” he announced. He also promised extending the Metro Bus service up to Kasur after the PMLN would form the next government.

Later, when Shehbaz Sharif reached Gajjumtta Chowk, party workers showered flower petals on him and gave him a rousing welcome. Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing the charged mob, said the PTI first opposed Metro Bus, and after its successful operations, they copied it in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa but failed. “If you re-elect Nawaz Sharif on February 8, the destiny of the country will change,” Shehbaz concluded.
