LONDON: Pakistan’s Federal government on Thursday issued a diplomatic passport to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The passport was issued after clearance from the Foreign Ministry, sources said.
According to details, the federal government has issued a diplomatic passport to Pakistan Muslim League leader (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif. The passport, issued after Foreign Ministry clearance, will be valid for 5 years.
The passport was sent to Nawaz Sharif via Passport and Immigration office which he has received. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government suspended the PML-N leader’s passport after he was declared an absconder by the court. The PML-N leader was issued a regular passport earlier.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif discussed the left-over discussion with former prime minister and PML-N Supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif at the Party’s office the second day.
Shedding the light on issues probably discussed and which are being confronting including current political turmoil in view of PTI’s long march, nomination of new Army chief, law & order situation and apprehension of imposition of martial law. He is likely stay in London for another stay.
Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Vice President of the Party, Maryam Nawaz also attended the discussion.
Shehbaz Sharif arrived in London on a private visit via a private flight after concluding his two-day trip to Egypt where he attended the COP27 climate conference.
This is PM Shehbaz’s third trip to London since he assumed the country’s top office in April and comes ahead of the appointment of the new army chief, with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s tenure set to end on November 29.
While responding a volley of questions by the waiting journalists, Nawaz Sharif merely confirmed of receiving the diplomatic passport and avoided other queries.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also declined to answer these questions on Wednesday and only said that they met and had lunch. He also extended congratulation to the nation on winning the semi final and placing in final.
