LONDON: In a fatal road accident, 40-year-old Saqib Ashraf Chaudhry, the eldest son of former Mirpur City Mayor, former Advisor to AJK government and PPP AJK leader Ch. Muhammad Ashraf, passed away in Ascot on Saturday night, family sources stated here on Sunday.
Young Saqib, an eminent distinguished local Kashmiri Diaspora community leader in the UK for past many years, lost his life while travelling near his residential area of Maidenhead, Midland.
He was alone when met the accident while driving the car and was going to home after the work. Unfortunately, in a head-on collision, a speedy car crossing the red light collided the car of Saqib Ashraf. Police has charged the responsible driver, Bashir Kalyal, cousin of Ch. Mohammad Ashraf told ‘The Nation’.
“The accident took place at about 11pm on Saturday night and the family came to know this tragedy at about 3am. The body of Saqib Ashraf is still with Coroner and is likely to be handed over to family on Wednesday”, he stated.
Saqib Ashraf had been under treatment at a hospital after he was seriously injured in accident.
Saqib Ashraf left behind him wife, four children, father, mother, other family members and a large number of mourners.
After handing over the dead body to the family, his funeral prayer will be held in Maidenhead on Thursday and will be sent to Mirpur for burial on Friday.
Members of Kashmiri diaspora, especially Mohammad Bashir Ratwi, former president Muslim Conference UK and Bashir Kalyal while expressing deep sorrow have condoled the grieved family and pray for the blessing of departed soul.
Saqib Ashraf was a very kind and humble men and people are gathering at Maidenhead Mosque, his home and ancestral house in Mirpur for the pray.
A large number of people gathered at his house in Mirpur for the condolence to the saddened family.
