ISLAMABAD: A new burning debate has started in Pakistan creating a new controversy of enforcing Presidential rule within country and Governor rule in focused province of Punjab.

The debate ignited by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah who threatened to impose governor’s rule in Punjab. Giving a strong response to the statements of PTI leaders about a ban on the entry of Rana Sanaullah in Punjab, the interior minister on Wednesday threatened to impose governor’s rule in the province.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Rana Sanaullah warned, “A summary of imposition of governor rule is being prepared in the interior ministry.”

“A ban on my entry in Punjab would be the reason for the imposition of governor rule in the province,” the interior minister stated.

On July 19, PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry had said that the PTI — once it forms its government in Punjab — may impose a ban on Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and Punjab Home Minister Attaullah Tarar’s entry into the province next week.

On July 19, PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry had said that the PTI — once it forms its government in Punjab — may impose a ban on Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and Punjab Home Minister Attaullah Tarar’s entry into the province next week.

During the presser, the interior minister threatened, “I have started work on the governor rule’s summary.”

Moving onto the SC’s judgment in the Punjab CM election case, the interior minister expressed regret over the post-verdict discussion on media and social media.

ISLAMABAD: Former Information Minister and PTI’s central leader Fawad Choudhary talking to media persons on Wednesday.

“There are some issues that trigger such conversation,” he said, adding that the contents of the letter written by SC senior-most judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa to the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) were a matter of concern.

“If such an atmosphere exists in honourable institutions, then we are on the brink of disaster,” he added.

Criticising PTI, Sanaullah accused Imran Khan of corruption. The anti-corruption department is probing Farah Gogi case, he said.

Sanaullah added that after the no-confidence motion against former prime minister Imran Khan was successful, the PML-N was of the view that we should go towards snap polls, indicating that the coalition partners did not agree at that time.

He also added that once general polls are announced, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif will come back to the country and lead the election campaign. “But now, the federal government is a coalition government, and this coalition has its governments in Sindh and Balochistan. The federal government has its own significance,” he added.

Fawad Choudhary’s warning

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former information minister Fawad Chaudhry calls Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah ‘crazy’ and advised him to first read how the Governor Rule could be imposed in a province.

While talking to a private TV following the press conference of the interior minister, he said that Rana Sanaullah has literally lost his mind after losing the government in Punjab.

KARACHI: Activists and supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf demonstrating against the Election Commission and Chief Election Commissioner in front of Election Commission.

At least he should seek help from the law minister who could read him out the provisions of the Constitution which define the circumstances and conditions under which the Governor Rule could be imposed.

He said that Rana Sanaullah – being interior minister – should not make such absurd statements. He should realise that PTI has most powerful portfolio that is the president and it can enforce the presidential rule within the country and which would be more effective.

To a question, Fawad said that they have Model Town case and 35 other cases against Sanaullah and threatened that the minister might be able to enter Punjab but not leave it. We have this option (of banning Sanaullah’s entry) open, he added.

PTI leader said that the political crisis in the country has not come to an end yet as he reiterated the demand for free and fair elections.

He added that the new cabinet in Punjab would only be transitory, and eventually they have to go for fresh elections.

PTI leader said that they would not dissolve Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab assemblies unless Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif agrees on fresh elections and bring all political parties on table for devising a framework for the fresh polls in Pakistan.

Later talking to media ahead of the PTI’s core committee meeting in Islamabad, the former information minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the PTI is now mulling to change the government in the center as he advised Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah to consult legal experts in his own party before threatening to impose Governor Rule in Punjab.

PTI moves LHC

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday filed plea in Lahore High Court seeking removal of PM Shehbaz Sharif and his cabinet members from their offices.

The plea was filed by PTI’s Andleeb Abbas and Hassan Niazi. Centre, the Principal Secretary to PM, Election Commission of Pakistan and others have been made respondents.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders in their plea have stated that PM Shehbaz is facing money laundering cases while his cabinet members during visits to London met convicted man.

Absconder Salman Shehbaz and his wife was included in the delegation of Prime Minister that officially visited Saudi Arabia. Taking absconders on the official visit is a sheer violation of the law.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has been pleaded to pass orders of Prime Minister removal and order appointment of caretaker PM in the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz and Punjab chief minister Hamza Shahbaz Sharif skipped proceedings of a money laundering case against them in an accountability court.

Shehbaz and his family are facing charges of money laundering of billions of rupees using accounts of their sugar mills and employees, according to the FIA.
