General Qamar Javed Bajwa

QUETTA: General Qamar Javed Bajwa, COAS visited Command and Staff College Quetta on June 2.  He was received by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali. COAS met the faculty and addressed participants of Command & Staff College Quetta. COAS appreciated faculty members for honing professional skills of students. COAS urged course participants to remain abreast with future battlefield challenges, latest technological advancements and focus on professional pursuits.

Later, COAS visited Corps Headquarters where he was given detailed briefing on security situation in the province. COAS lauded the commendable efforts of formations deployed across the province for providing secure environment for socio – economic activities including smooth conduct of Local Bodies Elections in the province.

General Bajwa visits School of Artillery, Nowshera

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited School of Artillery, Nowshera on May 19. COAS attended annual Commanding Officers’ conference of Artillery Regiment. COAS also visited various facilities during the visit including War Gaming Arena established to undertake training under simulated battle conditions and to facilitate planning/ conduct of war games/ exercises. COAS was also briefed about new training modules.

While interacting with officers, COAS urged them to stay focused on training and professional pursuits.

Earlier, on arrival at Nowshera, Colonel Commandant Corps of Artillery, Lieutenant General Muhammad Abdul Aziz received COAS.

Investiture ceremony

Meanwhile, an investiture ceremony held at Corps Headquarters Peshawar to confer military awards to Next of Kins of Shuhada and serving military officers to acknowledge their gallantry acts, devotion and sacrifices during service.

Commander Peshawar Corps Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid was the Chief Guest at the occasion. 43 kins of Shuhada received Tamgha-e-Basalat while Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) was awarded to two officers, and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) to 15 officers.
