party leaders to keep
Asif Zardari into
confidence in all decisions


LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) supremo and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday said that allies should be taken in full confidence on the PTIs long march and in every decision, Asif Ali Zardari should be kept in loop on Monday.

Sources privy to the development said an important consultative meeting of PML-N was held in which the political situation in the country, PTIs long march and early elections were discussed. Nawaz Sharif also attended the consultative meeting via video link from London, sources said.

During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif advised that if the government does not get IMF public relief package then big decisions should be taken, sources added.

Taking a dig at Imran Khan, Nawaz said the noise of the long march was made to affect the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Zardari, Fazl meeting

ISLAMABAD, May 23 (INP): Former President and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Asif Ali Zardari on Monday met Jamiat Ulemai-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Moulana Fazlur Rehman where the two vowed to foil Imran Khans ambitions which he wanted to achieve through his Islamabad long march.

During the meeting, Asif Zardari and Fazlur Rehman discussed political developments in the country. Imran Khans long march is a failed bid to create anarchy in the country,the JUI-F chief said and added that they would give a fight to the PTI chairman on every platform.

Speaking during the meeting, Asif Zardari said that Pakistan is facing an economic crisis and Imran Khan wanted to further prolong it. The two agreed that they would not allow Imran Khans ambitions to succeed and the coalition government will drag the country out of the ongoing crisis.

Tough measures

Federal government has decided to fail Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insafs (PTI) long march towards Islamabad, sources said on Monday.  In a move to fail the PTIs long march, the PML-N-led federal government has decided to seal the coming and outgoing ways towards Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, containers are also being shifted to the federal capitals Red Zone. It is expected that the Red Zone will be sealed by tonight to ensure entry denial to the PTI workers and supporters.

On Sunday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan announced to hold Islamabad long march on May 25.

Imran Khan addressed an important press conference after chairing the partys core committee session to finalise the strategy and date of Islamabads long march.

Tabling his demands, the PTI chairman said, We are demanding the date of fresh elections and dissolution of the assembly. We want fair and free elections in the country. Our style of politics is peace and our public gatherings are attended by people from all walks of life and women.

PTI seeks permission for May

The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Monday sought permission from Islamabad district commissioner for holding a sit-in on Srinagar Highway in the federal capital on May 25.

According to details, the PTI wrote an application to the Islamabad DC requesting him to allow the party to stage a sit-in on Srinagar Highway on the day of party’s long march as was announced by party Chairman Imran Khan.

It was stated in the application that the administration should provide security and take other measures for the security of participants of the long march. It was also assured in the application that the rally participants would stage a peaceful demonstration.
