“The farmers protested for 11 months, more than 700 farmers died. The Centre had to revoke the 3 farm bills when farmers made sacrifices. “Remember this, we’ve promised to get back Articles 370, 35-A and statehood and we’re ready to make any sacrifice,” Abdullah added while addressing a convention of NC’s youth wing on the occasion of the birth anniversary of party founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah at his mausoleum in Srinagar.

Farooq Abdullah said that Article 370 of the Constitution of India, which was abrogated in August 2019, has to be reinstated, to bring back normalcy in the Union Territory.

“All of you have to be steadfast. Centre repealed farm laws after the sacrifices by 700 farmers. It is after these sacrifices that three farm laws were revoked. We may also have to offer similar sacrifices to get back the rights that have been snatched from us by the Centre,” he said.
“We had made a promise that we will get back Articles 370 and 35A and the Statehood. You should be ready for sacrifices and don’t be afraid. We are on right path and have faith in Allah. Ishallah, we will achieve success”, he said.
Farooq appealed for unity for achieving the success. “We should not get bogged down in small and trifle issues. We should stand united and then only we will achieve success”, he added.
“They are saying so many things and it looks everything was done by them here. They promised 50, 000 jobs in J&K and where are they? They instead are sacking employees. They are bringing people from Haryana and Punjab and where will our sons and daughters go”?, he asked.
He lashed out at Government for intimidating media. “If they write something, they are being summoned to Police Stations. On the other hand, they say there is freedom of speech”, he said.
