ROCHDALE: Pakistani Parliamentarian Ch Ihsan-ul-Haq Bajwa MNA, Chishtian (Bahawalnagar) and President, Pakistan Muslim League (Gulf) called on Chief Coordinator of the International Affairs and Overseas Pakistanis of the PML(N) and former Chairman of the Board of Governors of the OPF and Chair of the Association of Pakistani Lawyers (UK) Barrister Amjad at his chambers in Rochdale on 10 September 2021.
They discussed matters of mutual interest and considered ways to facilitate overseas Pakistanis and diaspora to enable them to play their role effectively in Pakistan, and UK especially in Gulf.
They lauded the Eight million overseas Pakistanis who sends billions of pounds in the forms of remittances to Pakistan. Their contribution needs to be acknowledged especially Women need to be facilitated to play their constitutional role in the development of Pakistan.
Barrister Amjad Malik said Quaid PMLN Mian Nawaz Sharif, President PMLN Mian Shahbaz Sharif and President Intl Affairs Ishaq Dar sahib Pin a great importance to 8 million overseas Pakistanis who are true ambassadors of Pakistan and serving their host country as well as homeland.
Barrister Amjad Malik said that Whilst in Government, PML-N through OPF in centre and OPC in Punjab connected with people in the PMLN administration indiscriminately with the 8 million overseas Pakistanis. Their overseas Pakistanis plight was heard, their claims were made and their grievances were resolved.
He said overseas Pakistanis are very dear to the leadership of PMLN. Whenever time comes, PMLN will once again deliver through representation in decision making bodies including seats in Parliament, aptly handling grievances through specialist tribunals and enhancing overseas investments through one window ‘one stop shop’ and facilitating their safe and sound home coming. It’s their party’s commitment to ensure role model services for the expat community.
At this occasion Barrister Amjad Malik recognised the efforts of the visiting delegate and acknowledged with a certificate on behalf of the organisation in the following words,” In recognition of his services as a community leader and member of the National Assembly of Pakistan providing effective public service in an efficient, diligent and selfless manner in the last few years & bridging the gap between Overseas Pakistanis abroad in UAE and (Pakistan)”.
Both agreed to continue their discussions in future on the issue of overseas Pakistanis and emancipation of diaspora and their role in elected public position(s) as role models.
Barrister Malik thanked the visiting delegate for visiting Rochdale, and, presented his book ‘Road to Pakistan’ the guest and a sumptuous dinner was served.
