KARACHI: Three Rear Admirals of Pakistan Navy have been promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Navy spokesman, the promoted include Vice Admiral Imran Ahmed, Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Vice Admiral Owais Ahmed Balgrami.
All three officers have extensive experience in performing various key command and staff responsibilities in the Pakistan Navy.
The statement said that Vice Admiral Imran Ahmed has served as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Materials), Commandant Pakistan Navy Engineering College and Director General of Maritime Technology Complex.
The spokesman said that Vice Admiral Imran Ahmed is currently the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Projects).
Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf has served as Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy, Deputy President National Defense University Islamabad, Director General (C4I), Naval Secretary and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Admin).
In addition, Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf is currently posted as Commander Pakistan Fleet.
Vice Admiral Owais Ahmed Balgrami has held important positions in the Ministry of Defense along with Commander Pakistan Fleet Chief Staff Officer, Principal Secretary to the Chief of the Naval Staff and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations).
A spokesman for the Pakistan Navy said that Vice Admiral Owais Ahmed Bulgrami is currently posted as Commander Karachi.
