Bilawal asks Shehbaz
to play role or quit


MULTAN: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Tuesday suggested that either Shehbaz Sharif should play his role as leader of the opposition in National Assembly (NA) effectively or give someone else a chance.

Speaking to a group of journalists here at Peoples Secretariat, he said that Shehbaz was the president of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and he must be in a position to take final decisions of the party. “Whenever Shehbaz issues a policy statement, it is rebutted by party’s spokesperson terming it as his personal opinion,” Bilawal said and added that opposition’s issues would not be settled unless the PDM stands confused.

About his tour to South Punjab, the PPP chairman claimed that he had received overwhelming response from the public adding that he was conveying party’s message by reaching out to them. On usage of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in 2023 general elections, he observed that the consultations should be held among stakeholders to reach a consensus over the matter. 

Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday said that his party is holding preparations for long march. In a statement, the PPP chief said that issues will not be resolved until Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) overcomes its confusion.

Bilawal Bhutto expressed that his party has some concerns over Afghanistan issue. “We provide employment to the people and the government snatches it”, he claimed.

Defence Day message

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the sacrifices of the martyrs, the unwavering determination of the soldiers and the invincible unity of the people of Pakistan is our strength and the guarantee of our bright future.

In his message issued on Defence Day, the PPP Chairman said that the struggle of PPP is to make Pakistan stronger to strongest. Greeting the nation on Defense Day of Pakistan, Bilawal said that the befitting celebration of Defence Day of Pakistan is to protect geography, its ideology and democracy.

PPP chairman pointed out that it was nations first elected Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who gifted the nuclear programme and his daughter Prime Minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto who gave missile technology programme to ensure stronger defence of the country.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that all those soldiers who laid down their lives while defending Pakistan would remain unforgettable heroes in the national history.

On this Defence Day, I, on behalf of entire nation, assure the families of our martyred heroes sincere support and sympathies,he added. He further said that he salutes all those the civil citizens who have made exemplary sacrifices in the war against terrorism and extremism.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pledged to follow the ideology of the country in the light of philosophy of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to ensure an impregnable defence.
