LONDON: PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s grandson, Junaid Safdar, will be tying the knot later this month in London, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced on Twitter on Wednesday.

“My son Junaid’s nikah with Ayesha Saif-ur-Rahman Khan will take place in London on 22nd August Insha’Allah,” the PML-N leader wrote. “Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the ceremony owing to blatant victimisation, bogus cases and my name on ECL.”

The PML-N leader, while posting a card on the micro-blogging website, shared her son Junaid’s nikkah will take place in the UK with Ayesha Saif-ur-Rehman on August 22. However, she also made a point to announce that she won’t be able to participate in the event.

She further added, “I was in jail when my beloved mother passed away and now I won’t be able to share my son’s happiness, but, I will not make any request to this government for travel abroad. I leave the matter to Almighty Allah.”

In 2nd tweet, Maryam Nawaz said she won’t ask government for permission to travel London to attend the Nikah ceremony of her son Junaid Safdar.

“I will NOT make any request to this government for travel abroad, said Maryam. I leave the matter to Almighty Allah”.

Junaid Safdar and Ayesha Saif-ur-Rehman were engaged on September 16, 2017 at the Defence residence of former chairman NAB in Lahore.

The Nikkah ceremony of Aisha Saif and Junaid Safdar is being held at the Lanes borough, Hyde Park Corner in the UK capital.

Who is Ayesha Saif-ur-Rehman?

Ayesha is the daughter of Saif-ur-Rehman, the head now defunct Ehtesaab Bureau. He was accused of targeting the opponents of Sharif during his second stint as the prime minister of Pakistan.

He also had been member of Senate of Pakistan as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) (PML-N). In 2018, Customs Intelligence recovered 21 luxury vehicles from Redco Textile Mills, mill owned by the Saifur Rehman and Qatari ruling family members.

In 2012, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) issued his red warrants and contacted Qatari government with help ofInterpol to extradite Rehman to Pakistan.[6] He is facing charges of doing covert operations with help of FIA as the chairman of Ehtesab Bureau against his political opponents, doing torture and keeping them under illegal detention
