MUZAFFARABAD: AJK Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi has invited the attention of the United Nations towards human right violations and tense situation in Jammu & Kashmir and in the region.
He discussed overall situation and various projects of AJK with Prime Minister Imran Khan during a meeting at PM House, Islamabad. The tense border and LoC situation were especially discussed during the meeting.
Meanwhile. Talking to the Chairman Kashmiri Committee Shehryar Khan Afridi who called on him here on Thursday, he said Indian forces is engaged in the systematic killings of Kashmiri people and have intensified the reign of terror to crush the freedom movement launched by the people of occupied for attaining their fundamental right to self-determination.
Sardar Abdul Qayyum urged upon the international community to take notice of human rights violations in J&K. He underscored the need for the settlement of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people to decide their future through holding an impartial plebiscite.

He said Kashmiri nation is united and is at the same page on Kashmir issue and determined to continue their struggle for the liberation of J&K from Indian occupation. He said that the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is the real ambassador of Kashmir and the ray of hope for the Kashmiri people and he has played a vibrant role for projecting the Kashmir issue at the United Nation.
The AJK Prime Minister made it clear that Kashmiri will continue their struggle for achieving their right to self-determination in line with the United Nations resolutions.
Meanwhile, Sardar Abdul Qayyum paid rich tributes to the PM Imran Khan for effectively highlighting the Kashmir issue in its true perspective at United Nations, introducing health insurance scheme and launching of a successful Ehsaas Programme in Pakistan.
On the completion of the three year of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the AJK Prime Minister expressed the hope that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister of Pakistan, a new era of progress and development will begin in Azad Kashmir and long awaited issues of the people will be addressed.
Meeting with Governor GB
Gilgit Baltistan Governor Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon on Friday held a meeting with the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi and discussed to further strengthen bilateral relations to bring about socio economic changes in lives of the people of both the region.
Speaking on the occasion, the AJK Prime Minister said that the basic objective of the incumbent government is to serve the masses with missionary spirit and to ensure the speedy development in the state to change Azad Kashmir into a welfare oriented state.

Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi said that people of Gilgit Baltistan have reposed their confidence in Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and similarly the people of Azad Kashmir have also expressed their confidence in the Prime Minister of Pakistan and in this connection all resources will be channelized to implement the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He said both the governments will cooperate with each other in different sectors of development and people to people contact will also be further strengthened.
Governor Gilgit Baltistan speaking on the occasion said that the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir have a long political struggle and the best choice of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and added that both the government will cooperate with each other in various sectors of development to carry forward socio economic programme for the welfare of the people.
Maqpoon paid rich tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the liberation of occupied Kashmir. He felicitated Abdul Qayyum Niazi for assuming the office of the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
Cabinet oath
AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood administered the oath to newly appointed ministers in President House, Muzaffarabad on 26th August. Prime Minister Abdul Qayyum Khan Niazi, senior minister Sardar Tanweer Ilyas and other senior officers attended the event.

The minister who took oath were including Azhar Sadiq, Shahida Sagheer, Ch. Arshad Hussain, Ch. Ali Shahn, Zafar Iqbal Malik, Ch. Mohammad Akhaq, NisarAnsar Abdali, Sardar Mohammad Hussain Khan, Sardar Fahim Akhtar Rabbani, Sardar Mir Akbar Khan, Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, Ch. Mohammad Rasheed, Dewan Ali Khan Chughtai, Mohammad Akmal Sargala and Abdul Majid Khan.
Later, President Sultan Mahmood extended congratulation to all ministers for taking this important responsibility to run the government.
Portfolios allotted
Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sardar Abdul Qayoom Khan Niazi on Monday allotted portfolios to the members of his cabinet. According to a notification issued by Secretary Cabinet, Sardar Tanveer Illiyas has been given the portfolio of physical planning, housing and tourism departments, Khawaja Farooq has been given the portfolio of local governments and rural development department while Sardar Mir Akbar Khan has been assigned the departments of agriculture, livestock, dairy development, irrigation and small dams.
On the other hand, Food department has been assigned to Ch. Ali Shan Soni, portfolio of planning and developments and environment has been given to Ch. Rasheed, Finance, Inland Revenue and cooperative department has been given to Majid Khan while population planning has been allotted to Sardar Muhammad Hussain Khan.
Ch. Muhammd Arshad has been given electricity department and water resources, Dewan Ali Chughtai has been given elementary and secondary education and technical and vocational training authority (TEVTA), only woman member of cabinet Shahida Sagheer Chughtai has been given the portfolio of social welfare and women development department.
Meanwhile, Azhar Sadiq has been assigned the portfolio of communication and roads construction, Zafar Malik has been given Higher education department, Ch. Muhammad Akhlaq has been given revenue department,
Ansar Abdali has been given Health department, Fahim Akhtar Rabani has been given Law, Justice, parliamentary affairs and information departments while Akmal Sargala has been given the portfolio of Forest, wildlife and Fisheries department.
