Clubbhushan Yadav’s case spoiled by PML-N, Shah Mehmood Qureshi


MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the previous government of Pakistan Muslim League (N) had handled the case of Indian spy commander Kulbhushan Yadav in a wrong way.

Media reported that Pakistan, following the International Court of Justice’s decision, Foreign Minister while talking to media after inaugurating the construction of the park said.

He said that we have taken steps to implement the directive of the International Court of Justice while India wants Pakistan to deny consular access to Kulbhushan Yadav so that he can get a basis to go to ICJ.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the opposition should not show ignorance by making statements in this regard and should refrain from strengthening the Indian point of view.

He was referring to the ICJ (Review and Reconsideration) Bill, recently passed by Parliament.

Under the law, Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav will have new consular access under the ICJ’s decision.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that whoever is going through the process of accountability will be given an opportunity to prove his innocence.

Reacting to the criticism of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the arrest of PPP leader Khurshid Shah’s son, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that we want transparent accountability and not revenge.

He further said that if anyone tries to obstruct the accountability process, Prime Minister Imran Khan will not give them NRO.

“Anyone involved in corruption will not be treated unfairly and will not be discriminated against. If Khursheed Shah’s son is innocent, no action will be taken against him as the law is the same for all,” the foreign minister was quoted as saying. ۔

In response to a question about Jahangir Tareen, the Foreign Minister claimed that the Prime Minister had given a concession and would not give any concession.

Referring to the relief received by the PTI leader in the Chinese scandal, he said that investigations were underway and everything would be clear soon.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan had no intention of handing over the airbase to the United States while the recent visit of the CIA chief (Pakistan) was part of routine and there was nothing hidden in it.

The foreign minister said that by allowing a limited number of locals to perform the Hajj, the Saudi government had taken precautionary measures against the epidemic.

He clarified that there is no intention of mini budget.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that before criticizing the government on the defense budget, PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal should read the budget document.

Replying to a question on G7 countries, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that China was working on C-Pac projects and would continue to do so.

He added that it would be a healthy competition if the G7 countries wanted to launch a similar project.

Replying to a question regarding development works in Multan, the Foreign Minister said that on the direction of Imran Khan, District Coordination Committees have been formed in all the districts of Punjab which will monitor the development schemes in their respective districts.
