ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and DG-ISI Lt. Gen Faiz Hameed on Monday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at the PM House in Islamabad. Matters pertaining to security situation and other important issues came under discussion during the meeting.
According to sources, the country’s civil and military leadership also discussed in details professional matters of the army in the meeting.
“Matters pertaining to internal and external security were discussed during the meeting, which was also attended by Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General Lt General Faiz Hamid,” says press release issued by PM Office following the meeting. This was the third meeting of the top civil and military leadership of the country within a month.
Earlier, the Army Chief and DG ISI called on the premier on January 25 for a meeting wherein they discussed matters pertaining to the national security.
Pakistan Army chief had lauded the ISI’s tireless efforts towards national security during his recent visit to the ISI Headquarters. According to the military’s media wing, the COAS during his visit to the ISI Headquarters had been given a comprehensive briefing on the regional and national security situation.
