Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said, “This is a political signal that the government is panicking over the decisions of the PDM.”He said that the government has expressed distrust in its own MPs, they are telling the whole country that we will use every tactic before the elections to rig the Senate elections for Imran Khan.

ISLAMABAD: Chairman, Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressing a press conference on the issue of open/secret ballot of Senate election.

He said that in a democratic country there is a parliamentary procedure for changing the constitution, if the government has decided to change the constitution then it should have taken it seriously.

The PPP chairman said that no attempt was made to reach a consensus on the issue and no serious talks were held with various parties.

He said that the government had not adopted a democratic process and had taken steps to make the Supreme Court controversial and sent a reference to it.”The government has put the Supreme Court in a position where whatever it decides will be a controversial decision,” he said.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that only parliament can amend the constitution.”Where this reference was in the court, it was suddenly brought to the National Assembly by the committee, not even allowed to speak in the National Assembly and the MPs were attacked,” he said.

“After this shameful incident, another step has been taken which will make our institution, parliament and the Supreme Court controversial,” he said.

“The ordinance is being passed by the cabinet through circulation and the government is considering whether the constitution needs to be amended or the law needs to be amended,” the PPP chairman said.

“What is the point of taking this step when a case is in the court? The government is trying to put pressure on the institutions using various tactics,” he said.

He said that every attempt to rig the PTI would fail, adding that the government was making a childish move to make not only the institutions but also the entire Senate elections controversial.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the intention of the government was to rig the Senate elections in favor of the selected party.

Referring to the NRO, he said, “We see that the government is distributing NROs like candies, whether it is Ahsanullah Ehsan, sugar mafia, flour mafia, BRT scandal, Aleema Khan’s sewing machine or Be the home of Bani Gala and the biggest NRO is Papa Jones NRO.

He said that we have come to the point that Imran Khan is asking NRO from PDM and we will not allow him to run away, Imran Khan will have to give an account of every injustice and that day will come soon

He said that PPP wants to solve problems like fraud forever and bring reforms in them.In response to a question, he said that the no-confidence motion is a democratic process to remove any Prime Minister.
