PM, Gen Bajwa and Gen Faiz Hameed discuss overall situation

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan and COAS Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa held a comprehensive meeting and discussed the overall, internal and external situation in detail. The meeting which was held at PM House, also stocked the political developments within the country, the reliable sources stated. DG-ISI Lt. Gen Faiz Hameed was also present during the meeting and gave his input.
Gen Bajwa briefed the prime minister about the situation in LoC and other border areas and said the armed forces are in full preparations and ready to foil any attempt of aggression or any odd situation. He inspected the whole area on Tuesday and held talks with deployed troops.
They expressed the resolve to ensure the defence of the country with the support of the people at all costs. During the meeting, professional matters pertaining to the Pakistan Army, and the external and internal security situation were discussed.
The meeting expressed concern over “continuous human rights violation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. Ceasefire violations and frequent provocative measures by the Indian forces along the Line of Control also came under discussion”, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. “It was resolved that defence of the motherland will be ensured with the support of [the] entire nation at all cost[s],” the PMO said on Twitter.
Imran Khan was fully satisfied with the details of armed forces’ preparedness and said that this is the good omen that a civilian government and armed forces are on single page and have identical views over all national and international issues. “This cohesion is in the larger interest of the country and the nation”, he added.
The informed sources said on the condition of anonymity; “All three expressed their annoyance over what they called opposition’s blame game targeting by name Gen Bajwa and Gen Faiz Hameed. The opposition leaders particularly Maryam Nawaz and Maulana Fazlur Rehman come out with full teeth on every occasion and target the Army and holding responsible for bringing Imran Khan and his party into power”.
Gen Bajwa also acquainted him about his Tuesday’s visit to forward troops deployed along Line of Control (LoC). There, he was briefed about latest situation, Indian Cease Fire Violations deliberately targeting innocent civilians along LOC and recent targeting of UN vehicle by Indian troops against all international norms and conventions.
Appreciating operational preparedness and high morale of troops, COAS lauded officers and men for continued vigilance and professionalism. Indian provocations particularly recent targeting of UNMOGIP vehicles are threat to regional peace and stability, COAS emphasised.
COAS said that Indian Army shall always get befitting response to any misadventure or aggression. Pakistan Army shall take measures to protect innocent civilians along LOC and defend honour, dignity & territorial integrity of motherland at all costs,
