ISLAMABAD:  Deputy Chairman of Senate Saleem Mandviwalla on Thursday said that not making amends in laws of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is a mistake of government as well as parliament.

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman Senate, Saleem Mandviwalla addresses a press conference at National Press Club.

Deputy Chairman Senate said that he has written letters to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief Justice of Pakistan and Chief of Army Staff to express his concerns regarding NAB actions. Saleem Mandviwalla said whoever is facing problems with respect to NAB should contact Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and asked the chamber to bring these issues in the Senate of Pakistan.

He also stressed that private individuals and businessmen should not become victim of the anti-graft watchdog. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader criticized the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for interfering in the affairs of the business community and called for help from chambers across the country.

Addressing the media at the NWFP Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandviwala said that NAB has under-invoicing cases and how did they go to NAB and who sent them. “It’s just a matter of under-invoicing. There are so many other cases of businessmen who are checking NAB tax returns and their land transactions for no reason. Is this the job of the NAB?”
