BIRMINGHAM: Detectives investigating the fatal shooting of Murtaza Nazir in Stechford arrested a man on November 13 on suspicion of murder. They acted on information and arrested a 28-year-old man from an address in Sheffield earlier this morning.
The suspect has been transported back to a custody block in the West Midlands for questioning. Mr Nazir was aged 26 when he was killed in Bagshaw Road on the evening of Friday 28 August. A 22-year-old man has already been charged with his murder and remanded into custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Griffiths, from our homicide unit, said: “This is another significant development in our investigation. “However, this enquiry is very much ongoing and we believe there are still people out there with information which can help us. We need them to come forward.”
