Farooq Haider asks Pakistan to project Kashmir issue at international level

ISLAMABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan has underlined the need for projecting the Kashmir issue aggressively at international level in the wake of current wave of aggressions of Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.

Talking to Pakistan’s National Security advisor Moeed Yousaf who called on him here on Thursday, he said India is engaged in the systematic killings of Kashmiri in occupied Kashmir and targeting the civil population of Azad Kashmir.

 He said before covid19 Kashmir was in the sharp focus of the world attention and urged for raising the Kashmir issue effectively at international level to appraise the world about the gruesome human rights violations of the Indian forces.

The Prime Minister discussed with Moeed Yusuf about the aggressions of the Indian forces at the line of control and setting up of Hydro power projects in Azad Kashmir and added that Kashmiri people are in the complete lockdown since 5th of august last year.

Meanwhile the Prime Minister also held a meeting with the Federal Minister Planning and Development Asad Umer in Islamabad and discussed with him about the ongoing developmental projects launched with the financial assistance of the Pakistan government in Azad Kashmir.

The Prime Minister thanked the federal government for providing generous financial assistance for the development of Azad Kashmir. The Federal Minister assured that the Pakistan government will remain engaged with the Azad Kashmir government for the completion of projects launched for the welfare and for the economic wellbeing of the people of the state. 

Foundation stone

Meanwhile, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan has invited all the political leadership of Azad Kashmir and APHC to formulate a unanimous strategy for upholding the sanctity and respect for the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a foundation stone laying ceremony of a renowned Kashmiri leader Choudhary Ghulam Abbas’s tomb here on Thursday, he said Pakistan is an article of faith for the Kashmiri people and in this context, they had linked their destiny with Pakistan by adopting a historical resolution before the very inception of Pakistan.

He urged the people as well the Kashmiri living in Pakistan   to demonstrate complete unity and extend their full support and encourage the Kashmiri people struggling for their internationally recognized right to self-determination.

He said late Choudhary Ghulam Abbas had played a significant role for the dignity and ideology of Pakistan and proved himself a real solider of Pakistan and worked day and night under the dynamic leadership of Qauid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for the establishment of Pakistan.

He said Choudhary Ghulam Abbas was great leader and was close friend of Qauid-e-Azam and it due to his commitment with Pakistan movement that he was nominated a special representative of Muslim league in Kashmir and added that he was a man of principle and remained associated with the ideology of Pakistan.  

Referring to the latest situation obtaining in occupied Kashmir, he said Kashmiri people have been offering matchless sacrifices for the completion of Pakistan and struggling for the implementation of United Nations resolutions to decide their future through holding free and impartial plebiscite.
