Kashmiris dismayed over sedition case against Farooq Haider, demand deletion of his name

MUZAFFARABAD: Kashmiris particularly the overseas Kashmiris living in Britain and associated with PML-N (AJK chapter) have taken very seriously and aggressively the sedition case against their leader and sitting prime minister of AJK Raja Farooq Haider Khan and termed a great insult and humiliation to Kashmiri people.

“Pakistan government has outrightly ignored the contribution and services of Kashmiri people for Pakistan and freedom struggle for those oppressed people who are living under duress of Indian Government and armed forces in J&K”; they said demanding forthwith deletion of his name from FIR and an unconditional apology.

Raja Farooq Haider

The sedition FIR was registered with the police in Lahore at the petition of PTI activist Badar Rasheed who himself is criminal and history sheeter. This is great humiliating and embarrassing joke against the Kashmiri people which is not tolerable”, they stated.

After their severe protest, the name of Raja Farooq Haider has been deleted from the FIR. Meanwhile, AJK prime minister himself while rejecting this case has said that Pakistan Government is giving an opportunity to India to celebrate this so-called case against a Kashmiri citizen who has fought against New Delhi’s rule over Kashmir during his whole life.

He said; “I was ‘hurt’ by the sedition FIR lodged against him and other leaders of the PML-N, adding that if he was summoned for the probe, he would go in handcuffs. “I was hurt when I got to know about the [sedition] FIR,” he said, speaking during Geo News program Geo Parliament. “If three-fourths of the PDM’s representatives are Modi’s agents, then a question is raised on Pakistan’s existence.”

Farooq Haider said that he had not asked anyone to exclude his name from the FIR, adding that the development was ‘unfortunate’. “If I am summoned for the [sedition] probe, will arrive in my government car with handcuffs on,” he said.

“This FIR is evidence of moral bankruptcy and enmity against the state,” he said. “Even the Mader-e-Millat (Mother of the Nation) was declared a traitor. Developments such as these weaken a nation,’ he added.
