MUZAFFARABAD: A high level meeting to review the annual development programme 2020-2021 was held, under the chairmanship of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that the government during the four year has ensured the timely completion of the developmental projects and funds were projected exclusively for the wellbeing of the people of Azad Kashmir.
He said the government has adopted a comprehensive developmental strategy for the socio-economic uplift of the people of the state and formulated a transparent policy for the use of developmental funds. He said efforts have been intensified for the timely completion of developmental projects for the welfare of the people which helped save the public money. He said the present government has spent almost all developmental funds for the benefit of the common man and have not compromised on the quality of the work.
He directed the concerned official to intensify the pace of progress on various ongoing developmental projects and complete the projects within the specified time so that the fruits of development could reach at the door steps of the common man.
Earlier the additional Chief Secretary development Syed Asif Hussain in his briefing told the Prime Minister that use of developmental funds have been made in a transparent manner and steps have been intensified to achieve the targets within the specified time. , He also briefed the Prime Minister about the pace of progress on various ongoing developmental projects and details of work completed by the PWD and Physical Planning and Housing sectors.
Meanwhile, the Azad Kashmir development working party at its meeting here on Tuesday reviewed seven various projects costing over 5.75 billion. The Additional chief secretary development Syed Asif Hussain presided.
The meeting besides other projects reviewed the setting up of National Parks, provision of life saving services in the major hospitals and provision of clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene facilities to the people in collaboration with the federal government. Establishment of integrated diseases surveillance and response system and natural calamities control programme were also deliberated during the meeting.
Addressing the meeting the Additional Chief Secretary development called for the completion of projects within the specified time and added that no compromise will be made on the quality of the work. He called for intensifying the effective monitoring system to check the quality of developmental work. He said and under the directions of the Prime Minister developmental scheme should be prepared keeping in view of the urgent requirements of the people of the state.
