MUZAFFARABAD: Amidst media reports of holding general elections sooner or later in AJK and polls related political activities by PTI-AJK and very recent visit of Pakistan opposition leaders to Muzaffarabad, AJK Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan held a meeting in Muzaffarabad on Monday (10th August) with chairman NADRA Usman Yousaf Mobeen and discussed with him the election connected issues.
Farooq Haider told him that the coordination between NADRA and AJK Govt. is vital for the registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages, for this propose a MoU between AJK Govt. and NADRA will be finalized soon.
He said that AJK Govt., AJK Election Commission and NADRA will work together for the preparation of Voters lists to ensure transparent and fair election in AJK. Though he did not mention any specific date for the election but said that the government machinery should be ready to hold polls.
“Once the details of election programme are announced, former election campaign would be started and all eligible political parties and candidate would be allowed to participate in the process”, he said.
Meanwhile, while talking to the AJK minister Raja Javed Iqbal and others who called on him at the Jammu Kashmir House on Monday, he said said that Covid-19 cases are decreasing day by day in the state due the timely measures taken by the government.
He said that the threat of Covid-19 is still exists and called upon the masses to follow the protective SOP issued by the government. Farooq Haider said that the steps to prevent this virus have been appreciated by the WHO and other international institutions which is an ample proof of our performance.
He said that the infrastructure of the state is better than that of other provinces of Pakistan. Farooq Haider said that AJK is Polio Free State from 19 years, due to the untiring efforts of health workers.
