BRADFORD: All services at a Bradford mosque have been suspended until further notice after two people tested positive for Covid-19. It was initially thought one person, a volunteer, had tested positive this morning, but it has now been confirmed another attendee has also tested positive.

Liaqat Hussain, trustee of the Jamia Masjid Tabligh-Ul-Islam, on Toller Lane, said services were being suspended as a precautionary measure until further notice. He said the situation would be assessed, but added: “We will only open when it’s safe to.”

Mr Hussain urged people to “stay at home, stay alert and keep themselves and others safe” and advised people who had been to the mosque in recent days to self isolate and get tested.

Bradford Council confirmed the mosque is closed as a precaution after two people who attended tested positive for Covid-19.
