Met Police surprise care worker on her birthday


LONDON: Met Police Barking and Dagenham officers surprised a care worker on her 60th Birthday. Ms Beryl Jones of Grays is temporarily staying with her partner in Dagenham due to lockdown. She works in a care home in Grays.

A cruise was booked to celebrate her 60th Birthday but the booking was cancelled due to COVID-19. Ms Jones’ colleague, Ms Lisa Adeniran of Purfleet, asked her local Councillor Qaisar Abbas to arrange a surprise for her care worker friend’s Birthday.

On Cllr Abbas’ request, Lead Communication Officer of Metropolitan Police sent local Police Officers to wish Ms Jones a Happy Birthday. Ms Jones said “I wouldn’t forget this birthday. Thanks to the police for this visit and thanks to Councillor Abbas for organising this.” 

Ms Lisa Adeniran, support worker and colleague of Ms Jones, said “Police officers and Cllr Abbas have surely made me and my friend’s day very special.” Cllr Abbas also congratulated Ms Jones on her birthday.
