Two charged with Butt murder in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM: A man and a woman have been charged on Tuesday (November 19) with murder after a 27-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Lozells on Sunday (17 November).

West Midlands Police have stated that officers found Mazammal Mahmood Butt with serious injuries in Lozells Street just before 3.30pm and he was confirmed dead before arriving at hospital.

Mobeen Shahzad, aged 27, of Osborne Grove, Lozells, and Sheridan Fitzsimmons, aged 28, of Conybere Street, Highgate, were due before Birmingham Magistrates Court charged with murder on Thursday. A post mortem examination found Mr Butt died from a single stab wound.

West Midlands Police has released a picture of the 27-year-old who was affectionately known as “Zammy.”He was found with serious injuries in Lozells Street just before 3.30pm on Sunday and was confirmed dead before arriving at hospital.

Bunches of flowers in memory of “Zammy” were left outside a shop near the scene.
