Lord Zameer formally joins the House by taking oath to allegiance

LONDON: The prominent Pakistani businessman and CEO, Bestway Group Zameer Choudrey, CBE, HI (Pak) formally become the distinguish member of House of Lords for life on Tuesday (November 5) when he took the oath after a recitation read out about his career and consent by Queen Elizabeth.

His official title would be Baron Choudrey, of Hampstead in the London Borough of Barnet, was introduced and took the oath, supported by Baroness Evans of Bowes Park and Lord Marland, and signed an undertaking to abide by the Code of Conduct.

This prestigious status was bestowed upon him in recognition to his services for the community, charity, promotion of education and enhancing Pak-UK trade relations for which he has already been honoured with award of CBE.

Lord Zameer Mohammad Choudrey who migrated from Gujjar Khani in Punjab at the age of 12 is the nephew of Sir Anwar Pervez OBE, HPk, Chairman, Bestway Group. He is staunch supporter of ruling Conservative Party and extends his association with the Party as a Chairman, Conservative Friends of Pakistan.
