Malik Nadeem visits Rochdale Council, discuss issues with SWP members


ROCHDALE:Malik Nadeem Kamran, Member of the Punjab Assembly (former provincial minister) from Sahiwal, visited Rochdale and met with the Mayor, Councillor Billy Sheerin, in the Mayor’s Parlour and later attended the meeting of Sahiwal Working Party at Castlemere Community Centre and met with members of the Sahiwal Working Party who have been members for the last 30 years and are being the work.

Tributes were paid to Late Abdul Hamied Choudhary who was the driving force in establishing link with Sahiwal in 1989.

According to information provided by Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE, Secretary, Sahiwal Working Party, he said that he had visited Rochdale many times in the past and thanked the Mayor, MP, Councillors and members of the Sahiwal Working Party who visited Sahiwal in 2018. He also thanked the people of the Borough of Rochdale for their continued support for the twinning link. 

People of Sahiwal are thankful for the contribution Rochdale has made for the people in Sahiwal as they learnt/ benefitted a lot from various projects delivered , exchange visits,  visits to various projects, ambulances, fire engines, gully cleaner sent, eye camp being and maternity training for midwives etc.

He said, during his tenure as a Provincial Minister of the Punjab Province for the last ten years and being a resident of Sahiwal, he was able to get various educational institutions for the people of Sahiwal. He extended the invitation to the Mayor Councillor Billy Sheerin to visit Sahiwal.
