High level meeting at PHC discusses Pak-UK relations and other issues

LONDON: Pakistan High Commissioner Nafees Zakaria called a meeting at the high commission on Thursday (21st February) which was participated by allfour consul generals and heads of various departments of the high commission.

The purpose of holding the meeting wasto find out various ways to streamline the working of the high commission to facilitate the diaspora and the matters related to the community, consular services and trade promotion between Pakistan and the UK were discussed. Other issue which was particularly discussed wasBrexit and high commissionersaid that other countries would preferably exploit the postBrexitsituation in their favour and we should also be benefited of changing circumstances.

Nafees Zakaria sought suggestions from participants and passed on the instructions received from Foreign Ministry. The prominent participants were including the consul generals from Birmingham, Bradford, Manchester and Glasgow, Counsellor Sher Abbas, Ghulam Nabi Memon, Deputy High Commissioner Mohammad Ayub, First Secretary (Press) Muneer Ahmed and other senior diplomats.
