ISLAMABAD: In pursuance of his economic drive, Prime Minister Imran Khan has has approved the establishment of 10 special economic zones (E Z) in 33 provinces and privatization of state land institutions during the current fiscal year. The establishment of economic zones is to provide facilities and incentives to the business community, chairing the board meeting for approval of the economic zone according to the Prime Minister said Khan.
Chairing a meeting here on Thursday, the Prime Minister said the government is committed to facilitate the business environment for the business community in order to create economic activity in the country.
The Secretary Board of Investment said in the meeting that the 13 economic zones have been notified, while 12 more in the public sector and the private sector work 6.
According to a Dawn report and other media sources, the meeting was informed that in 2012 the SEC judged after the enactment of special economic zones were established only 7 in 2018. While the current government has notified the 6 new economic zones in just one year.
The meeting was also briefed on putting in new economic zones and industrial issues regarding the establishment of special economic zones that will be decided in consultation with the provincial governments.
The Prime Minister’s special economic zones, industrial establishment and investors and entrepreneurs to relevant laws to facilitate and regulations for this scheme to simplify, minister, counselor working group on trade and other relevant authorities directed the establishment.
The working group will submit its recommendations to the Prime Minister of Special Economic Zones.
The meeting included Minister of Planning Asad Umar said that the Gilgit-industrial sector development work continues to set growth strategy of Baltistan.
The Prime Minister urged utilize the tourism opportunities in Gilgit and the importance of the establishment of special zones of tourism.
The meeting leader of the House, Senate Shibli Faraz, Energy Minister Omar Ayub, Planning Minister Asad Umar, Advisor on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Advisor Trade Abdul Razak Dawood, Minister Khyber Khan, Chief Minister Gilgit Hafiz Mohammad Hafeez Rahman, Special Assistant Information Dr frdus Ashiq Awan, special assistant to the PAC, Board of investment Chairman Zubair minister, provincial minister Salim Timor dispute, industry Minister Punjab Mian Mohammad Aslam and other senior officers were present.
The Prime Minister Khan chaired a separate meeting for the privatization that has approved the privatization of 33 state-owned enterprises / arazyun will be completed this year.

These institutions include re gysyfayyd 2 liquefied natural gas plants, SMC Bank, Lahore and Islamabad Jinnah Portal Services International Convention Center with 27 official arazyan.
