Make your mehendi darker

THE wedding season calls for the mehendi ceremony, which is a big part of Indian weddings. The mehendi application is a vital tradition of the wedding celebrations. Be it your own wedding or your friend’s wedding, henna-adorned hands always complement your look. If you want to make your henna darker, then we’ve got five important hacks to make the most of your henna:

Clean your hands

Before putting mehendi, you must cleanse your hands and feet properly. Once all the dirt and grime is removed, the mehendi paste will be able to get absorbed properly.

Give enough time

If you want the mehendi to get darker, then you need to keep it on for a couple of hours. 10-12 hours of stay can turn the colour darker. You can sleep with it on at night and wash it off the next morning.

Lemon and sugar

Once you get the mehendi done, you can apply lemon water and sugar mixture on your hands. To make this mixture, you need to boil some water and mix sugar and add a few drops of lemon. However, stay cautious and use the mixture in less quantity as it can ruin the design too!

1-2 days before

The colour takes time to show. So, you can apply mehendi 1-2 days before the main occasion, that way the colour will pop more on the main occasion.

Avoid water

To remove the mehendi, don’t use soap and water, you can try to remove it with a knife or spoon. Also, avoid rubbing your hands as it can spoil the design.
