Woman charged after girl killed in collision


BIRMINGHAM: A woman has been charged with causing the death of six-year-old Jannatul Bakya by dangerous driving, after she was tragically killed in a Smethwick road collision on Saturday 28 July 2018.

The schoolgirl was with her father heading to prayers at a local mosque when she was struck by a vehicle at around 10.50pm while crossing Oldbury Road; she was pronounced dead at the scene.

West Midlands Police arrested 27-year-old Andjele Vranjes of Beakes Road, Bearwood shortly after the collision. She ws due to appear at Walsall Magistrates Court on Thursday afternoon (28 March).
