ISLAMABAD: Mishal Hussein Malik, Chairperson Peace and Culture Organisation has urged the United Nation Human Rights Commissioner to step up its effort to ensure implementation of the recommendations of its report in letter and spirit as published on the on-going atrocities committed by Indian army in J&K.
Mishal Malik , who is the spouse of Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Yasin Malik in her video message issued on International Human Rights Day said that Indian army is committing human rights violations on daily basis even despite the UN report. Earlier she addressed a press conference in presence of Kjell Magne Bondevik, the former prime minister of Norway. He expressed hope that India and Pakistan can return to dialogue table post-Lok Sabha polls to bring lasting solution to longest running conflict in South Asia.
She claimed that forces have martyred around 755 Kashmiris since July 8, 2016 and gang raped as well as molested 903 women during this period.
She asked the world, when will there be demilitarization and shunning of human rights violations as occupied forces have injured more than eight thousands Kashmiris by pellets and hundreds of young people hasve lost their eye sight in last two years due to the use of pellet shot guns.Calling it the biggest mass blinding on mankind in recorded history.
She further said that when will the Kashmiri people be given rights of liberty as promised by the UN. People are asking what is our fault why is our vision is being smashed from us, Malik questioned.
She said that her husband, Yasin Malik, one of the prominent liberation leader who is fighting peacefully for right of self determination is being kept in jail in unhygienic conditions despite his fast deteriorating health condition,” she added.
