Gen Bajwa visits LOC, receives update information


MUZAFFARABAD: Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited Line of Control (LOC). General Officer Commanding (GOC) gave update on situation along LOC, Indian cease fire violations (CFVs) and response by Pak Army. Later COAS interacted with troops.
COAS appreciated their state of readiness and morale. COAS also appreciated resilience of civilian Kashmiri population who are being deliberately targeted by Indian Army on both sides of the LOC. He said that lately there has been increase in Indian CFVs and rhetoric of provocative statements by their military leadership. We are a professional and combat hardened Army ready to defend our motherland. It would be better if they realise this and place their stock in peace & progress through dialogue.

Meanwhile, General Qamar Javed Bajwa met with Pakistan Army team which won Gold Medal in “Exercise Cambrian Petrol” held in UK from 8-22 October 2018. A total of 100 teams participated in the competition. Pakistan Army was represented by 11 members team including 3 officers. COAS appreciated the team for their commendable performance. This is the 6th time Pakistan Army has won Gold in the competition and 4th conservative time.
