“PCB to decide if I lead team in World Cup or not”: Sarfraz

KARACHI: Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will decide whether he will lead the national tema in the World Cup or not. “This is a question which is being repeatedly asked and I have no reply to it,” he said during a press conference in Dubai. “Only the PCB can answer your question. My only duty is to perform for the team.” He remarked that the team failed to make a recovery in the shorter format after giving away early wicket.

Wasim backs Sarfraz

Former Test batsman M Wasim has said that Pakistan cricket team played like a unit against Australia and New Zealand in T20 Internationals and outclassed them in all the departments.

Talking to The Nation, Wasim said: “It was fantastic to watch green caps fully dictating terms against the two power houses of world cricket and tamed both with utmost ease. Both Aussies and Black Caps missed quality spin attack, which gave the green caps huge advantage and they played one of the best crickets in recent times.”

He said Pakistan bowling attack, whether fast bowling or spin, is truly a world class and Pakistani batsmen also played superbly against both the opponents. “Babar Azam is enjoying the best form of his life, while Muhammad Hafeez also played anchor sheet role in Pakistan’s tremendous triumphs against New Zealand. For me, the genuine concern was out-of-form Fakhar Zaman, who couldn’t produce wonders against both Australia and New Zealand. I think, Fakhar needs to spend more time in the nets while coach Micky Arthur must talk to him and help him in rediscovering the lost touch.”
