LONDON: Katha UK in collaboration with Wolfson College of Oxford University and B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra is organizing the first ever Hindi Seminar in the history of Oxford University.
Tejinder Sharma MBE (General Secretary of Katha UK) informed that the opening ceremony of the event would be held on 15th November 2018 in the House of Commons, London where Mr. Ram Naik, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh and the Chancellor of B.R. Ambedkar University would be the Chief Guest. Prof. Arvind Dixit, Vice Chancellor will chair the event. India’s Deputy High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Mr. Charanjeet Singh will also attend. The host for the evening would be Gareth Thomas MP. The theme for the opening session would be – “Indo-British Relationship (with special reference to British Hindi Literature”). Scholars from India, Mauritius and the UK would attend the event. Two books would be launched during this event.

Zakia Zubairi, Mr. Tarun Kumar (Hindi Officer), Vinod Kumar Mishra (Mauritius), Prof. Francesca Orsini (SOAS), Ravi Sharma, Kailash Budhwar, Prof Shyam Manohar Pandey, Mira Misra Kaushik (OBE), Dr. Aruna Ajitsaria (MBE), Dr. Padmesh Gupta, Dr. Nikhil Kaushik (Wales), Dr. Achala Sharma, Pervaiz Alam, Parveiz Manzoor, Jai Verma, Shikha Varshnay, Indu Barot, Geeta Sharma, and Prof Umesh Singh (Mauritius) will also attend.
The Main seminar would be held in the Wolfson College, Oxford on 16th November 2018 with the theme of “Hindi Diaspora writing in the UK – with special reference to Tejinder Sharma.” This will be an academic session in which scholars from India and Mauritius would be reading their Research Papers. A book “Global Hindi Literature and Tejinder Sharma” would be alunched during this session. The closing ceremony of the the 3-day seminar would take place in B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra on 24th November 2018.
Besides Tejinder Sharma MBE, Prof. Imre Bangha of the Wolfson College, Oxford University and Prof. Pradeep Shridhar of B.R. Ambedkar University are the convenors of this 3-day mega-event.
