Nexus of CDA-illegal housing societies unleashes plunder spree


ISLAMABAD: CDA planning wing is said to have provided land worth billion of rupees in federal capital to illegal housing societies at throw away rate.  Director society Sheikh Ijaz and Deputy Director Abdul Haq Brohi was involved in this scam .

There are about 110 illegal societies including Jammu Kashmir Housing Society, Supreme Court housing society, Sawan Garden Cooperative housing society, Civilian employee cooperative society, central board of revenue  employee Housing society, Senate employees Housing Society Aagosh Housing Society, Ministry of common’s employees Housing Society, Interior employees housing society, Multi Professional Housing society, Cabinet Division Employees Housing Society, and others that are busy in looting people  with impunity without having a lay out plan or NOC.

CDA have taken action against only four societies while 80 land mafias are neither possessing requisite  land nor are having any plan as per CDA laws.  Illegal Society holders also have not got approved  maps from CDA planning wing.

Hundreds and thousands of fake societies have been set up in the Capital and its adjoining areas.

Owners of fake societies are busy in looting innocent people through advertisements after connivance with CDA officials instead of fulfilling CDA rules and regulations.

Several societies have achieved NOCs from CDA through bogus credentials but they were not able to give water, Sui gas connections to allottees.

On the other hand, many cooperative societies have also constructed illegal plots in Green area of parks as facilities for construction of parks, school, graveyards, and green area are present in the maps of cooperative societies, and however these societies have snatched the facilities of green area and parks from citizens.

According to Online news agency, apart from these societies there are private societies that is been running with the connivance of CDA. CDA has no record of these private societies and also these societies didn’t fulfill bylaws of Authority.

These private societies include, Faisal Town, Gullberg Housing Society, Gori Town, Ashraf Town, Royal City, Barma Town, Muhammadi Town, Galaxy City, University Town, Nawab Town, Sati Town, Madina Town, Commons Town, and Akmal Town.

Cases against several private and cooperative societies were subjudicing in NAB and FBR. Investigation departments have sought files from these societies many times but CDA make lame excuses and protect owners of these societies.
