Book on memoirs of Real Admiral Lodhi launched


LONDON: A book on memoirs of late Rear Admiral M.A.K Lodi titled: “Ocean Rift” was launched here at Pakistan High Commission London on Wednesday (October 17) evening. The Book has been contributed by late Rear Admiral (R) M.A.K.Lodhi highlighting the birth of Pakistan Navy, its contribution in defending the sea frontiers of Pakistan in wars against India.
The book launching ceremony was organized by Pakistan Professional Forum United Kingdom (PPF UK) in collaboration with Pakistan High Commission. The ceremony was attended among others by son of late Rear Admiral M.A.K.Lodi, Amir Lodhi, his daughter Dr. Seema Lodhi’ grandsons and daughters besides a large number of British-Pakistanis, journalists, officials of Pakistan High Commission, and friends.
Secretary General PPFUK Muhammad Shoaib Sheikh, Mian Farrukh Hussain Chairman PPFUK, Military Advisor (Navy) Pakistan High Commission Commodore Raja Rab Nawaz, Seema Lodi, Amir Lodhi, Shahid Chaudhry (son in law ), Dr .Bilal (grandson) and Jehan Ara (granddaughter) also spoke on the occasion.
The speakers paid rich tributes to late Rear Admiral (R) M.A.K Lodi for his services and contribution in building of a highly professional Navy for Pakistan and defending sea frontiers in 1965 and 1971 wars.

Secretary PPFUK M. Shoaib Sheikh highlighted the aims and objectives of the forum and said that the main objective was to raise the cultural profile of Pakistan at global level, besides highlighting the contribution and services of heroes of Pakistan like late Rear Admiral M.A.K.Lodhi.
Dr Mian Farrukh Hussain Chairman of PPFUK speaking on the occasion highlighted the life and achievements of late Admiral Lodi and said that he was a very humble, soft spoken and good practicing Muslim. By writing his memoirs, late Lodi has left a sweet memories regarding the history of Pakistan Navy, he expressed. The Chairman PPF also lauded the services and contributions of late M.A.K.Lodhi in defending the sea frontiers of the motherland beside building Pakistan Navy as a professional and strong organization.
Speaking on the occasion, Commodore Raja Rab Nawaz said that late Rear Admiral M.A.K.Lodhi laid the foundation of Pakistan Navy and worked for its development in highly professional manners. He said that Admiral Lodi was also the commanding officer of Pakistan Navy ship “Babar”. He added his book would be an important addition in the history of Pakistan Navy. He said that later Admiral M.A.K.Lodi also worked for Pakistan High Commission London as Advisor (Navy).
Speaking on the occasion, his son and daughter said that their father was a very loving and caring, beside a highly professional officer of Pakistan Navy. They said he was very good, generous to all.
His grandson Dr .Bilal and grand-daughter Jehan Ara said that their grandfather was very humble, generous, man with many skills and talent. “We are proud of his achievements”, they remarked.
