New policies for welfare of Overseas Pakistanis to be introduced: Zulfiqar Bukhari


ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfiqar Hussain Bukhari has said that government would introduce new policies for the welfare of the Overseas Pakistanis.

Talking to media outside Parliament House, he said that government is also working on the mechanism to extend possible support to the overseas facing jails in minor cases and legal issues abroad. He said that government would also provide all possible facilities to the overseas to reduce their problems. He said that overseas Pakistanis are keen to invest in Pakistan and they will play important role in strengthening our economy.

Meanwhile, Zulfi Bukhari announced on Wednesday that he will donate all of his salaries to the PM-CJP dam fund. He said that he will donate all salaries, while serving on this position, to the PM-CJP Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund.

Until Sep 7, an amount of Rs 1.97 billion had been collected on the initiative of Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar. In July, the SC had issued directives for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams and ordered to start them immediately.

Prime Minister Imran Khan appointed his close aide Sayed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari as Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development with the status of Minister of State.
