1 grated coconut

3 stem removed spring garlic

3 green chilli

salt as required

For Tempering

1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds

1/2 teaspoon urad dal

2 curry leaves

1 pinch asafoetida

2 red chilli

2 tablespoon vegetable oil


Step 1

Start by removing the roots from the garlic. Take grated coconut, green chillies along with spring garlic and add it in a mixer grinder. Add salt along with water in it and grind the ingredients together.

Step 2

For the best flavor, add coconut water to the same mixture and grind the chutney again. After this, place a pan with oil in it over medium flame and add mustard seeds in it. Let the seeds start crackle and then add asafoetida, urad dal, red chilies and curry leaves. Saute the ingredients well and let them cook until the urad dal turns golden brown in color.

Step 3

Next, pour this tadka over the ground coconut paste in a bowl. Serve it along with idli, upma, utthappam or medu vada.
