IF you are a fan of mutton meat and are bored with the general mutton masala, mutton korma or mutton curry, then you should try this delicious Methi Mutton recipe, which is loaded with flavours. Cooked using mutton meat, which is marinated well for 3-4 hours using a marinade of yoghurt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, green chillies, salt and ginger-garlic paste. The marinated mutton pieces are cooked using a melange of whole and ground spices and the aroma of the dish is such that it will make your mouth water.
Ingredients of Methi Mutton
1 kilograms mutton
1 teaspoon powdered turmeric
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
4 crushed to paste, sliced green chilies
10 cloves crushed garlic
1 cup yoghurt
3 clove
1 large chopped tomato
3 green cardamom
2 teaspoon Chilli powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon ground fennel seeds
1 inch crushed ginger
2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon refined oil
1 large onion
250 gm fenugreek leaves

How to make Methi Mutton

Step 1
To prepare this mouth-watering non-vegetarian recipe, prepare the marinade first using yoghurt, chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, crushed green chillies and crushed ginger & garlic (you can also use ginger and garlic paste). When the marinade is ready, take a large bowl and marinate the mutton pieces for 3-4 hours.

Next, heat oil in a pot and add cloves in it. As they starts to crackle, add onions along with sliced green chillies in it.

Next, add chopped tomato in it and continue to stir for 2-3 minutes. Add, methi leaves in the pot and toss well. Add green cardamom followed by turmeric, chilli powder, coriander and garam masala. Continue to stir.

Step 4
Add marinated mutton meat in the pot and toss to coat with the onion, methi and spice mixture.

Step 5
Now, add water (1 or 2 cups) or as per the consistency of gravy required. Then, add salt in the pot and cover with a lid. Cook the mutton pieces on medium flame for 30-minutes stirring occasionally.

Step 6
Finally, add fennel seeds and stir well. Continue to cook uncovered on high flame for about a minute or two. Turn off the burner, once done and your methi mutton is ready! Serve hot with your favourite bread.
