Programme to strengthen faith institutions launched

BRADFORD: More than 100 members of different faiths in Bradford met to take part in the launch of a programmed by Bradford Council to strengthen faiths and safeguard children and community integration.
 The event took place at the Kidmat Centre, in Spencer Road, Bradford, on Wednesday and was open to all faith organizations and leaders, Telegraph and Argus has reported.
Organizer Javed Bashir, Bradford Council’s school and community development officer, who worked alongside the council’s diversity and cohesion team, said:
“It was a very successful event with more than 100 coming along and enjoying chats and discussions to help bring together communities and to launch the national Strengthening Faith Institutions programmed in Bradford.
” The aims of the forum are to bring together local communities from mosques, gurdwaras, churches, temples and synagogues that are running supplementary educational activities and beyond.
The future aim is to work with a number of organizations around the district to encourage integration, as well as improving safeguarding of children.
