LONDON: A condolence meeting to pay homage to the unforgettable services for Islam and the community of former Mayor of Waltham Forest Cllr.
Nadeem Ali was held at the Darul Uloom Jilania in Waltham Forest on Sunday. A large number of community members attended the event to mark his first death anniversary. Addressing the participants, great intellectual and philosopher Syed Peer Dr. Abdul Qader Jilani highlighted the noble character and role of Cllr.
Nadeem Ali and said that he was a gentle example for others and we all should strive our best to follow him. “He was true soldier of Islam and he loved the last Prophet [PBHM] from his bottom of heart and mind. We feel his absence terribly today and will in future”.
He said that Islam is a religion revealed by God for all people, in all places, at all times. As such, Islam is accessible to everybody and is particularly mindful of the importance of respect, rights, and responsibilities.
The words of the Quran and the authentic traditions of Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, contain the rights and responsibilities granted by God to humankind. He reminded that once a child is conceived, it has the right to life.
The Quran makes it very clear that all life is sacred. It is never permissible to terminate a pregnancy because one fears being unable to financially support a child or another child. It is God, who is the Provider and Sustainer of all life. Peer Syed Sabir Hussain, Syed Mazhar Hussain Shah and other community leaders also spoke at the occasion and paid tributes to Nadeem Ali.All mourners expressed their solidarity with Cllr. Liaquat Ali MBE (father of Nadeem Ali) and Ch. Shokat Ali (uncle) and other family members.
