NAB authorises inquiries into several malpractices, Imdad Hussain arrested

KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has decided to initiate several inquiries at a regional board meeting, which was held at NAB Karachi on Monday under the chairmanship of Director General NAB Karachi. Mohammad Altaf Bawany.
The Board was attended by directors of Investigation wings, additional director complaint verification cell (CVC) and respective investigating teams of concerned cases. According to a statement, inquiry was authorized against Haji Gul Muhammad Brohi and other land grabbers of District Jamshoro on the allegations of illegally occupying government land at different sites in Karachi and Hydrebada. Inquiry was also authorized against retired official Jalaluddin-Hesbani Baloch who has allegedly accumulated assets beyond the known sources of income in his capacity as XEN Irrigation Department District Matiari. The accused has allegedly caused a loss to the state exchequer worth more than Rs. 160 million. Another inquiry was authorized against officers and officials of sports & youth affairs department Sindh on the allegation of misappropriation in development budget and illegal contracting of various schemes in violation of rules and by awarding contracts worth Rs. 417 Million to the favorite contractors, the statement added.
Meanwhile, NAB Rawalpindi arrested Imdad Hussain Mian, Ex. District Officer Cooperative, Rawalpindi in the case against investigation against the management of Pak PWD Employees Cooperative Housing Society, Islamabad and others regarding misuse of authority by illegally converting residential plots into commercial plots, Criminal Breach of Trust, says in press release.
As per details, Accused Imdad Hussain Mian, Ex. District Officer Cooperative, Rawalpindi misuse their authority by illegally converting residential plots into commercial plots.
