JAMMU: J&K Governor N N Vohra has called for a security audit of all vulnerable places and vital installations in the state. Vohra emphasized the vital importance of urgently carrying out a security audit of all vulnerable places, vital installations and sensitive establishments during a meeting with the ADGP Home Guards Muneer Ahmad Khan, an official spokesman said.
Earlier Additional Director General of Police, Home Guards, Disaster Management and Security called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan and briefed him about several important matters relating to security management in the state, he said. Complimenting Khan for his devoted endeavours during the period he served as the police chief in the valley, the Governor emphasised the vital importance of urgently carrying out a security audit of all vulnerable places, vital installations and sensitive establishments in each of the three regions of the state.
Governor in the past also batted for a ‘complete security audit’ of all vital civil and army establishments across the state “to ensure these are safeguarded.” After Pathankot and Sunjwan attacks also, Vohra had stated that it was very important to review the existing status of security of important defence and government establishments in J&K.
He had stressed the need for a cohesive action to effectively maintain internal security and ensure the safety of sensitive establishments and installations.
In this context, he had asked representatives of all the security forces and agencies to identify all existing gaps and ensure complete fusion of manpower and technology resources for a prompt and strong counter-terror response on all fronts.
