Gen Qayyum briefs Pakistani diplomats about country’s situation


LONDON: The visiting delegation comprising Pakistani senators headed by former federal minister Senator Lt Gen (r) Abdul Qayyum visited Pakistan High Commission here on Thursday.
He briefed the officers about their visit to Britain and meetings with UK parliamentarians and community members during which he discussed Pakistan situation, Kashmir issue and other regional affairs. “While briefing of prevailing situation in Kashmir and eastern and western borders, I categorically informed them that our country is going through various challenges but our nation is resilient and armed forces on full alert to deal any odd situation”, he stated.
“We are satisfied that we have conveyed our message and everyone understood our genuine position”, Gen Qayyum said adding that despite threatening attitude from our eastern and western neighbours and US President’s recent hostile attitude, Pakistan is in better security and financial position. At the end of the meeting Gen Qayyum presenting a shield to Acting High Commissioner Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry.
