ROCHDALE: OPF Chairman has welcomed a delegation of overseas Pakistanis hailing from Kashmir origin at Rochdale on Monday and headed by community leader Amjid Mughal.
He enquired progress on overseasPakistanisCommissioninAJK, updated facilities including travel and Tourism to Pakistan and reformed complaint process and time barred conclusion of such complaints,Mirpur colony and itsfuture and colonisation of chattarpari colony and opf hospital atAJK.
He said special attention malik st be given to Kashmir cause and the plight of the Kashmiri people. Chairman of the OPF said that we will continue supporting the legitimate plight of the Kashmiri people and moral , legal and diplomatic efforts will continue to raise the plight and support it at all international forums. Barrister Amjad Malik said , “It was very nice to welcome a representative delegation of members of Kashmiri origin today where we discussed issues of expats in UK and Europe , We explored ways with which we can work together and issues which are important to work as a common ground i.e. raising image of Pakistan in the eyes of our children, service delivery and investment and ensuring good governance and accountability.”
He opined that OPCAJK law is passed and now administrative decisions are awaited to kick start the commission work at AJK. He promised that he will impress upon AJK Prime Ministerto set up commission, appoint its first commissioner and set up advisory council and district overseas committeesto address the genuine grievances of expats and facilitate their homecoming. An ‘OPF Presentation’ was given by Chairman BoG on 18 months activity ofthe organisation and he outlined all initiatives which has been introduced by OPF in recent times. Arif Chaudhary , Haseeb Khan, Mubeen Javed, Usman Ahmad and Arfan Farouk were present at the chamber during the meeting.
