Resolving Kashmir is moral duty of Britain and Parliamentarians: Raja Masood Khan

LONDON: While laudingthe encouraging support to Kashmir cause by theBritish Parliamentarians, the visiting AJK President Sardar Masood Khan has said that oppressed Kashmiris in J&K bank on this kind support and have great expectations with the British political parties and leaders.

LONDON: Pakistan High Commissioner Syed Ibne Abbas hosted a dinner in honour of President AJK Sardar Masood Khan and Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman NI(M), at the High Commission on Tuesday. The photos were taken while they addressed the audience.

Addressing a Kashmir conference at the House of Commons organised by Jammu & Kashmir Self Determination Movement on Tuesday, he said that this is a historic fact that the Kashmir issue is the outcome of negligence occurred in 1947 when India and Pakistan were getting independence.
Kashmiri nation was ignored and was not given the right ofself determination. “Now it is moral responsibility of Britain and its Parliamentarians to come forward and demonstrate their integrity and solidarity to Kashmiri people and help them getting their rights of independent state”, he emphasised. He said that Pakistan origin British Parliamentarians and their friends in the Parliament are playing pivotal role.
“Their support is source of great inspiration toKashmiri nation”. The event was presided by Mian Faisal Rasheed MP from Warrington and attended by Pakistan High Commissioner Syed Ibne Abbas,Lord Qurban Hussain, Lilian Greewood MP, Naz Shah MP, Chris Lelie MP, Barrister Imran Hussain MP, Fabian Hamilton MP, Vernon Cooks MP, Graham Jones MP, Jim Macmillan MP, Afzal Khan MP, Yasmin Qureshi MP, M. Yasin MP, Raja Najabat Hussain, Raja Ejaz Mahmood, Dr. Saboor Javed and others.

Sardar Masood Khan briefed the attendees about the prevailing situation at the LoC which he termed dangerous and disturbing. He said since 1989, Indian forces have killed more than 100,000Kashmiris,usedrape as an instrument of war, and employed incarceration, forced disappearances, torture, encounter killings, and custodial killings to bludgeon Kashmiris to submission and enslavement. By the use of pellet guns, they have completely blinded more than a hundred, mostly youth, put1,000atthe risk of blinding, and injured more than 20,000.
