Five Hazara members gunned down in Quetta


QUETTA: At least five members belonging to the ethnic Hazara community were shot dead and one was injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on their vehicle on Kasi road in Quetta, capital of the Balochistan province on Monday , police said.

In line with police, van carrying hazara community members was on its way to Ganjh Mandi  and  as the van reached  Kasi road  already ambushed gunmen opened fire on the van and as a result five people belonging to Hazara community were killed on the spot and one sustained serious injuries.

Police and rescue teams reached the crime scene and shifted all deceased and injured to the hospital. According to police the deceased were identified as Haji Muhammad, Saleh Muhammad, Khadim Hussain, Syed Sarwar and Muhammad Ali.

QUETTA: Family members and relatives of victims of target killing are sitting in despair by the side of coffins during a protest at Alamdar Road.

On the other side police have collected preliminary evidence from the crime scene.

Police while recording statements of eyewitness have cordoned off the adjoining areas to search for the culprits. Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri condemned the incident and ordered an inquiry.
